Capacity Gaps in Florida’s Coastal Regions

The communities that face the brunt of these challenges are primarily in coastal counties such as Miami-Dade, Broward, and Pinellas. These regions are densely populated and characterized by an intricate web of economic dependencies tied to tourism, agriculture, and marine activities. Consequently, the impact of climate-related disruptions could severely damage both the economy and the safety of residents in these areas. Infrastructure related to roads, utilities, and public transportation is particularly susceptible.
